History

In 1977 few socially responsible marwaris came together to create a platform to bind sprawling marwari communities across India to achieve national unity and do meaningful projects towards social upliftment. All India Yuva Manch is the brain child of their vision & mission. AIMYM is a non-profit voluntary youth organization established on 10th October, 1977 at Guwahati, Assam. It then expanded to 23 towns/cities of the North-Eastern States by the year 1983. It got the national outlook in its First National Convention held at Guwahati on 18th, 19th & 20th January, 1985 in a very short span of less than eight years. Today, it has more than 685 branches throughout the country with its Headquarter at Delhi. Today we have more than 100,000 active members.

AIMYM welcomes all the marwaris especially in age group of 18 - 40 to join us. The motive of this platform is to unite the youth force and channelize the energy for the progress of the community as well as the nation. The organization helps in identifying potential people and provides leadership to them so that they can take constructive steps to lead the community in positive direction. AIMYM believes young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. The basic desire of the Marwari yuva Manch is the development of the national, social, economical, political, physical as well as moral level with the help of youth power along with the Marwari Community.

The History & Significance of the Manch Mashal
The Eternal Flame of Unity, Inspiration, and Commitment
The Manch Mashal holds a revered position within the All India Marwari Yuva Manch (AIMYM), serving as an enduring source of inspiration, unity, and unwavering commitment to the organization’s founding ideals. Far more than a ceremonial torch, the Mashal is the visual heart of our identity, enshrined at the very center of the official Manch logo.
⏳ Chronological Journey & Milestones
1983: The Genesis
The Mashal was envisioned, created, and developed through the foresight of Shri Ramjiwan Sureka, a dedicated member of the Tinsukia Branch. Under his leadership, the flame was first lit ceremonially during a Yuva Mela in 1983. Recognizing its profound symbolism, the organization adopted the Mashal as the centerpiece of the official Manch logo, making the torch synonymous with the identity of AIMYM itself.
1985: Elevation to the National Stage
In January 1985, Shri Ramjiwan Sureka personally carried the Mashal to Guwahati for the historic 1st National Convention of the All India Marwari Yuva Manch. During the auspicious inauguration ceremony held from January 18th to 20th, the Mashal was ceremonially lit at the hands of Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, forever intertwining royal grace with the youth movement.
2021: Formal Adoption as the "Rashtriya Mashal"
In recognition of its deep spiritual and cultural resonance, the Rastriya Sabha of the All India Marwari Yuva Manch formally elevated its status during the National Convention held in Puri, Odisha, in 2021, officially adopting it as the "Rashtriya Mashal."
🌟 The Legacy of the "Mashal Purush"
The story of the Mashal is inseparable from the lifelong dedication of its creator. For decades, Shri Ramjiwan Sureka has personally carried this sacred flame to every single National Convention and Purvottar Prant Provincial Convention of the organization.
Owing to this historic contribution and his legendary devotion to sustaining this flame, he is respectfully and affectionately known across the entire national fabric of the organization as the “Mashal Purush”.
A Living Heritage
Today, the Manch Mashal stands as a proud testament to the heritage of the All India Marwari Yuva Manch. It continues to burn brightly, illuminating the path for the organization's present leadership and inspiring future generations of youth to serve with passion, purpose, and solidarity.
